How to Install a Printer Driver

On Windows

  1. Download the Driver:
    • Visit the printer manufacturer’s website or use a trusted source like Pedrivers.com to download the latest driver for your printer model and Windows version.
  2. Open the Driver File:
    • Locate the downloaded file, usually in your Downloads folder. Double-click the file to start the installation process.
  3. Run the Installer:
    • Follow the on-screen instructions provided by the installer. This may include agreeing to terms and conditions and selecting installation options.
  4. Connect Your Printer:
    • If prompted, connect your printer to your computer using a USB cable or ensure it is connected to the same network if using a network printer.
  5. Complete the Installation:
    • After the installation is complete, your printer should be listed in your devices. You can check this by going to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
  6. Print a Test Page:
    • To ensure everything is working correctly, print a test page by selecting your printer in the Printers & scanners settings and choosing Manage > Print a test page.

On macOS

  1. Download the Driver:
    • Go to the printer manufacturer’s website or Pedrivers.com to download the latest driver for your printer model and macOS version.
  2. Open the Driver File:
    • Find the downloaded file in your Downloads folder and double-click to open it. This will typically mount a disk image on your desktop.

  6. Print a Test Page:
